Improve Your Videos with These Awesome Webcam Tips

You don’t need to be a tech pro to make your videos look great. You just need to know a few tricks.

Whether it’s for a conference call, live streaming show, video blogging, video course, or simply video calling your friends, you can make your videos look incredible with our awesome webcam tips.

5 Awesome Webcam Tips to Improve Your Vide

Make Sure the Webcam Is Positioned Rightly

How your camera is positioned is important in making your video look great. You do not want to be too far or too close to your camera. Ensure that the webcam is set at just the right distance from where you’re seated so that it shows your head and shoulders.

You also want to position your webcam at eye level or above, but not above your hairline.

Use Lights from the Front to Improve Your Video

When you have the right lighting set up in your recording space, your video is sure to look great. And if you cannot afford to invest in a high-grade studio lighting kit, there are a few things you can do.

You can move your recording space to face a window to enable you to take advantage of natural lighting. You can as well use a ring light or a lamp.

But avoid placing light sources above, below, beside, or behind you. Strong lighting behind you can mess up your video and take the focus away from you to your background.

Pay Attention to Your Background

Your background does not have to be fancy, so long as it is pleasing and organized. You don’t want a background that will distract your audience from the main focus, which is you and what it is you’re saying.

So make sure that you remove everything from your background that could distract your audience. This includes cleaning up and using a simple space. You can even use a plain background or work with a background replacement app.

Wear the Right Clothes

You might not have thought of it but your choice of clothing affects your video quality. What you’re wearing has to contrast with your background to enable you to stand out so that your audience can keep their focus on you.

Wearing a darker-colored outfit would contrast well if your background setting is bright. And if your background is darker, wearing a brighter or neutral-colored outfit would be better for your video.

Pay Attention to Your Audio

Your audio quality is just as important as your visual quality when it comes to webcam videos.

You might want to invest in a noise cancellation headset with a built-in microphone to enable you and your viewers to hear each other better.

Alternatively, you can choose to go for a USB microphone to help reduce background noise.
