How to Bypass URL Filtering Easily

URL filtering involves limiting content that users have access to on the internet. This is especially useful in schools, offices, and other places where restricting user access to the web is necessary.

However, at one point or another, and for some reason, we may find ourselves needing to gain access to certain restricted URLs.

If you're in such a situation, don't worry about it. There are ways to easily bypass URL filtering and gain access to restricted websites.

4 Tips to Bypass URL Filtering

Use a VPN to Change Your Location

This is one of the easiest ways to bypass URL filtering. Because URL filtering usually works with country location, changing your location typically gives you access to the URL.

You only need to install a VPN and set your location to another country. You will find many VPNs that you can use for free. A VPN can allow you access to blocked sites including Facebook and YouTube.

Use a DNS Server to bypass URL Filtering

For the internet to function, DNS servers are essential. Your ISP set up DNS servers in settings for each network you connect to.

They would have to remove data from the DNS server to prevent you from accessing a certain website. The good news is that you can use free DNS servers to access restricted websites.

All you have to do is open your network link property in the control panel and type the IP address of the DNS server you want manually.

Use Proxy to Bypass URL Filtering

Proxies are also a great option for bypassing URL filtering. They work like VPNs to change your IP address. By making it seem as if you are accessing the website from a different location, you can bypass filters without changing your device settings.

Proxies, however, may not be the best way to bypass URL filtering. They're not as efficient as VPNs or DNS servers. Plus, some browsers may not allow you to use proxies. If you must use a proxy, ensure that it is a reliable one.

Shorten URL to Bypass URL Filtering

The idea of this method is to fool your browser into thinking you want to access a different website. You can use a shortcut service to shorten the URL you want to access.

This works because a lot of URL shortcut services will not be blocked from your domain. Nevertheless, you might still be unable to access the website if your shortened URL is redirected to the original.

Although this method is not totally reliable, it is worth a shot. It is pretty easy and almost anyone can do it.
